About Us
Welcome to Olney is Kind, a community-driven initiative dedicated to providing support to our local residents facing challenging circumstances, be it crisis, poverty, or any other difficulties. Our mission is to offer support to improve the wellbeing of the people in our community
and extend a helping hand across a wide range of issues.
Our Impact and Why We Are Needed
The Cost-of-Living crisis means more, and more families are experiencing food poverty. We deliver 15-20 food parcels each month to individuals and families who are in crisis, with nowhere else to turn.
Since the Pandemic, poor mental health has been on the rise. Mental Health UK estimates that over 8m people are experiencing an anxiety disorder at any one time. In Milton Keynes, it can take up to two years to see a Mental Health counsellor through the NHS. Your local GPs at Cobbs Garden Surgery can refer patients to Olney is Kind who can help fund counselling sessions with local private practitioners.
Olney is a relatively wealthy community, with some families and individuals living in poverty and isolation. Olney is Kind has a mission to ensure that everyone in Olney has a chance to share in the town’s prosperity and be included in the community’s activities.
